Unlimited mobile plans in Belgium

Usually not. On most Belgian plans the word applies to calls and text messages while data remains a bundle in gigabytes. Genuinely unlimited data plans exist at the top of the market. Read the specification sheet rather than the banner, because the same word is used for two very different things.

It is the contractual limit on how an unlimited allowance may be used. In Belgium it typically restricts tethering, permanent use as a home connection, and the volume you can consume while roaming in the EU. It bites when consumption stops resembling ordinary mobile use over a sustained period.

Technically it often works, but most Belgian unlimited plans include clauses against sustained use as a fixed connection, and tethering may be restricted or capped. If you want a mobile-based home connection, buy a product designed and sold for that purpose rather than stretching a consumer plan.

For messaging, maps, music and social media outside wifi, a mid-sized bundle is comfortable. Video is what changes the answer entirely: an hour of high-definition streaming a day will exhaust most bundles. Check the data figure in your phone's settings for the last few months before deciding.
