The most affordable fixed internet plans in Belgium start around €23 to €29 a month. At that level you get a moderate speed, no television package and usually no landline. Online subscription is often a condition of the reduced rate, and several of these plans come from secondary brands that resell an incumbent network.
As of August 31, 2026, the real budget risk under €40 is not the speed but the step-up from the promotional rate to the standard rate. Compare on the total you will pay over twenty-four months, activation and equipment rental included. On that basis a plan advertised at €29 regularly ends up costing more than a stable one at €35.

Doing the arithmetic the operator does not do
Take the promotional price, multiply it by the number of promotional months, add the standard price for the remaining months, then add activation and any modem rental. Divide by twenty-four. That single number is what you are actually choosing between.
